Hello,
I am a graphic artist working with a programmer who uses QT on another platform (so he can’t really answer all my questions).
I want to install QT on my MAC (running OS 10.6.8) to enable me to do some of the screen layouts and animations for a game we are developing. I have never used QT, I know less-than-zilch about it, but I’m told it’s similar to working with an xml based editor I used before.
This looks like what I want…

I have downloaded this file, but not sure if the qt designer is included…
http://download.qt-project.org/official_releases/qt/5.0/5.0.2/qt-mac-opensource-5.0.2-clang-offline.dmg
During install, I got an alert that installation failed due to me not having installed Xcode prior to installing QT.
MUST I install Xcode if all I want to do is use the QT designer?
So, I am like a baby who hasn’t yet learned to walk, but “I want to go to there.” Can someone please help me with my first baby steps.
Thanks.
